Custom Injection Molded Plastic Gears
These gears are produced by plastic injection molding in hardened steel tooling, so tooth profile, bore position and hub geometry repeat accurately from the first shot to the last. Compared with machined gears, molded gears run quieter, need no secondary tooth cutting, and can integrate hubs, ribs, snap features and shaft bores in one part.

Tooling and process

- Mold lead time 20 days for a new mold, sampling 5 to 7 days after T1
- Mold life 500,000 to 1,000,000 shots with maintenance
Materials
POM (acetal) for low friction and dimensional stability, PA66 and PA66+GF30 for strength and heat, PBT for electrical parts, PEEK for high temperature, ABS and PC for appearance parts. Glass or carbon fiber reinforcement and molybdenum disulfide lubrication compounds are available. Natural white, blue and black are standard; any color can be matched. RoHS and REACH declarations on request.
