moulded with the tooth profile, bore position and hub geometry repeating shot to shot, verified on T1 before production release.
Interview
We mould injection moulded gears, so the tooth profile, the bore position and the hub geometry repeat from the first shot to the last. Against a machined gear, a moulded gear runs quieter because the tooth flank is formed rather than cut, needs no secondary tooth operation, and can carry the hub, the web, the snap features and the shaft bore in one part.
Material is selected to your drawing and the duty the gear has to survive. The grades below are the ones we run most often for this kind of gear, and any of them can be quoted — we confirm the choice with you at DFM rather than assuming it.
POM, PA66, PBT and PEEK. POM gives the lowest friction and the best dimensional stability, PA66 and PA66+GF30 carry load and heat, PEEK is used where the gear runs hot and dry.
Material is selected to your drawing. The grades listed are the ones we run most often for this type of part; we confirm the choice at DFM rather than assuming it.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Gear types | Spur, helical, worm, planet, double, internal and segment gears |
| Material | Selected to your drawing. We run POM, PA66, PBT and PEEK for this kind of part and confirm the grade with you at DFM. |
